SEREMBAN: A tourist from Denmark was charged at the magistrate’s court yesterday with driving recklessly and causing the death of three friends in an accident along the North-South Expressway early this month.

Kenneth Jakobsen, 27, was charged with causing the death of Mohd Ghazali Abdul Majid, 52, Mohd Sofee Mohd Tahir, 50, and Zulkarnain Adam, 49, at Km277.5 of the North-South Expressway at 5am on July 4.

The accused, who was on his way to Kuala Lumpur from Malacca, was alleged to have caused the accident when he made a U-turn and drove his Renault Kangoo against the traffic, causing the car to collide with the BMW driven by one of the three victims.


Jakobsen was also charged with refusing to provide a blood sample without a valid reason when asked
